Asystole Team
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
Dr. Johanna Ludwig, MD, MSc
Johanna is a surgeon with all her heart. The quest of what it takes to be a good surgeon and how to become one has taken her on a long journey from Kiribati to Berlin. Today she works enthusiastically during the day - sometimes tired at night - as a specialist in trauma surgery.
During her training, she completed a master's degree at Oxford University in Surgical Science and Practice and dedicated her master's thesis to continuing medical education in surgery. The doctors we train today are the future of medicine: their impact on patient care is greater than new drugs or implants.
Asystole is meant to be a game for these future doctors and health care practitioner. The intent of Asystole is to give them what they often miss out on between books and sleepless nights in the hospital: time with friends and fun in medicine.
Dr. Sven Jungmann, MD, MPH, MPP
Sven is " technically" a doctor. However, he has not been working at the bedside for several years. Driven by the desire to improve the healthcare system for patients as well as for healthcare practitioners, he has become a digital entrepreneur developing new solutions for better care. Yet, it doesn't always have to be digital: Asystole is also a project of heart.
He spent his medical studies in Germany, France, Spain, Brazil and the USA and thus got to know different education and healthcare systems. He spent his training in Berlin, mostly at Helios and somewhat at Charité.
In addition to medicine, he studied Public Policy at Oxford and Public Health at LSHTM, both with Master's degrees, and he holds a Diploma in Entrepreneurship from Cambridge.
Dr. Ryan Purdy, BA, BMBCh, PGCert
Ryan is a British medical doctor, currently practising in Leeds in northern England, and graduated from the University of Oxford during the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic. All too familiar with distance learning and essays, Ryan is determined to change medical education for the better.
His research interests lie in the creation and evaluation of technology for remote patient monitoring and diagnostics - such as wearables and applications. When he’s not playing medical card games, you’ll find him on a tennis court or trying out a new hobby. Most recently it’s DJing.
Dr. Stefanie Gauget, MD, PhD
Steffi is a pediatric intensive care physician and assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Children's Medical Center tending to critically ill children and teaching pediatric residents and medical students.
She grew up in Germany, where she attended medical school, and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric critical care fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital.
Her research nowadays focuses on the benefits of lifestyle medicine and healing gardens on healthcare providers and patients. She is also a Mom of 3 active kids and loves to play board games, if she is not busy running, biking, swimming, or doing yoga.
